To brighten up rooms, choose light-colored walls and ceilings, which eliminates the need to switch on an overhead light in the middle of the day. Mirrors can be strategically placed in your living spaces to reflect even more light. To help control sunlight, use light curtains or blinds.


Consider resource-saving fixtures and decor

There are several eco-friendly choices for bathroom faucets, toilets, kitchen appliances, and more if you're building or renovating your unit. You can also go a step further by purchasing trash cans that will make it easier for the whole family to sort and recycle trash.


Make an investment in energy-saving appliances.

If you're still buying furniture, look for inverter models for appliances that use a lot of electricity, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. These appliances can use even less energy thanks to inverter technology, which helps to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment. Because of these appliances, the water and electric costs would be greatly reduced.


Reduce the use of plastic.


You can drastically reduce your household's use of plastic as more sustainable alternatives become available. When you go grocery shopping, bring eco-bags with you and make sure to reuse them. Furthermore, choose reusable containers made of glass or stainless steel. Replace consumables like cotton pads and kitchen towels with washable and reusable alternatives.




Make time for the great outdoors.


Spend some time per day walking or working out in a public space. You are not only conserving electricity, but you are also taking good care of your physical and mental health.
